21 Day Fix

Another weight loss program that I have been on the fence about trying is 21 Day Fix by Autumn Calabrese. This consists of a 6 total work outs on 2 DVDs that are designed to burn massive amounts of calories in just 30 minutes! The 30 minutes is what gets me every time- I, like many of you, do not have time to work out, so anything I can get done in a short period of time while still getting results works for me! The workouts are total body cardio, upper, lower, Pilates, cardio and yoga. In addition to the workout you also implement an eating plan. This is not a diet though it is a color coded system that you use their containers they provide you with to get a better control on portion sizes. You get a green container for veggies, purple for fruits, red for protein, yellow for carbs, blue for healthy fats and cheeses, orange for seeds and dressing and a Shakeology cup to mix your drinks- and if it fits in the container, you can eat it! You get the whole package deal here, a workout and a diet plan- to be honest I am not sure why I haven’t tried it yet, possibly the money situation, these diet fads can get to be pretty spendy! I would be happy to hear any results from people who have tried this program before to see if it is worth the money!

  1. When it comes to losing weight, any program can work, and any program can fail. It all depends on if you can make the program work for you or not. However, the problem with these diet plans is that they aren’t usually sustainable. Sure you can lose weight for the short term, but to keep it off requires a change in lifestyle. I’ve read only 5% of people that lose 50 lbs. can keep it off for 5 years! Sustainability is about taking baby steps towards a healthier lifestyle all around.

    1. I agree with you on this, that is why I have been tempted to try this program. It really helps you to make those lifestyle changes, instead of just claiming they have a miracle pill! It helps you to get into a routine of working out regularly in addition to eating healthy and choosing the right portions. That is what weight loss is all about. It is interesting that such a small number of people actually keep it off, even when you make lifestyle changes it is hard to continue with those changes after so long. My sister is always dieting as well and she works so hard and doesn’t lose anything so she just gives up. It is depressing for her and us to watch her try so hard with no results.

  2. Whatever works for you! It doesn’t hurt to try anything. The trick to losing weight is to be dedicated, eating healthier and correctly, and fitness. My fiance lost 80lbs all on his own, but it takes a lot of time from his day it’s not something he could do fast. He lost the weight after school when he finally had time to work on himself. He pays attention to what he eats, when he eats, fitness routines, and makes sure he never sits for too long, he used all kinds of protein powders, vitamins, his cell phone via some app where he logs what he eats, his fitbit, and his Lifetime membership.
